Do we really have to call it work?

Well, I really enjoy what I do and I like to keep it that way. That means several benefits for you:

1. If we aren’t having fun, then what are we doing this for?
2. If we don’t do the best job possible no matter what the circumstances, then let’s go back to bed and forget the whole thing.
3. Everybody should win in every situation to some degree.
4. Art, marketing, writing, and concept are all closely integrated in the best work. Getting all the brains working together and in harmony is the only way to an excellent solution.
5. Problems are wonderful. They make us work harder for creative solutions that wouldn’t otherwise be seen.

So, there are also some practical aspects of working that everyone always asks about. Like how do we actually proceed with getting art done? Here’s a typical scenario:

1. We talk about the GOAL of the project.
2. We work on concepts.
3. We drink lots of really good coffee.
4. I make sketches and email them to you in jpg format. Or other format if you like.
5. You give feedback on them.
6. I revise sketches and/or head to final art.
7. Final art is delivered via email.
8. We drink a whole lot of really good coffee.

Which brings me to format. The final art is done entirely in Adobe Illustrator version 10 (at the moment) and can be saved as version 9. The files are fairly small and have no further need for trapping to print correctly.
